COLOUR
NETWORK
Colour Network occupies a site defined by the absence of human activity. From a disused substation, threads of colour extend outward toward a hollow metal form repurposed as an amplifier. Recorded whispers broadcast from a small speaker inside, sharing news reports, global policies, and agendas along with the hiss of radio static. Unlike radio transmissions with their limited range, these have international reach in an age of global connectivity, even though, in their current hushed form, they are hardly audible outside the rusting form’s aperture. Where this infrastructure once served the mechanics of electrical power, the work now operates at barely discernible decibels.
